End of Summer Block Party

Hi there, welcome back to our blog!

With Labor Day marking the unofficial end of summer, what better way to take advantage of the last days of summer than to throw a neighborhood block party.  Bring out the neighbors to relax and enjoy each others company before the nights get too chilly.  Once the sun goes down, bring out the projector and settle in for a movie  under the stars!

We would love to see how you and your neighbors say goodbye to the summer season. Be sure to tag us @danzantewines and use #liveitalia for a chance to have your photos featured on one of our pages.

6 quick block party tips

Get the word out

Hand deliver invitations to your neighbors to get a sense of  interest. Once you have neighbors interested host a short meeting to discuss what everyone has decided to contribute. If needed, designate a few neighbors to help co-plan the event.

Party Time

On the day of the party have neighbors bring their own chairs and line tables up to create one large communal table for eating and mingling. Ask neighbors to bring out garbage cans to collect waste.

Make it a potluck

Ask everyone to bring their favorite dish or two to share.  Scroll down to see some delicious no cook meal ideas from the Danzante kitchen.

Keep them entertained

Check with a local rental agency to see if you can find a cotton candy or popcorn machine to rent for the day. Have a water balloon fight at dusk, see who can eat the most watermelon in a watermelon eating contest or set up a game of bean bag toss, using some old corn hole bags and a plastic or cardboard box.

Make it a movie night

Making a projection screen to show your outdoor movie on can be as easy as hanging a white painters cloth inside a garage frame or house siding securing in place with a few hanging nails or thumb tacks. Invite guests to bring out air mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows and blankets so they can stay awhile.

Don't forget the wine

Danzante screw caps make them the perfect wine to serve as they are easy to open and close. Serve our Pinot Grigio for white wine fans, and our new Tuscan Red Blend for red wine fans.
